Andrew, welcome to the Modern Athlete Network! As a lifelong skier who's always dreamed of living out west in ski country, I'm totally jealous of your upbringing and lifestyle! I know there are also several other M.A.N. Members (e.g. Michael Gallagher, Danny Green, Kirk Taylor) who would be very interested in the Ski Fitness Program you espouse on FitSkiing.com! I'm also interested to see that you have used AIS Stretching and Myofacial Release - would you mind telling us a little about that, as some point? I'm curious how different is is from Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.), which is practiced by Members Andy Smith and Tim Scheuerman, and Graston Technique, which Andy also practices and Tim tells me he's going to learn, as many of the best A.R.T. folks are doing.

I'll look forward to seeing you here and I hope you'll showcase your FitSkiing Program here and/or even consider creating a Group within M.A.N. dedicated to it.

Thanks,
Adam

Myofascial Release

Adam asked me to post a little nugget on Myofascial Release. Below is an excerpt from a blog I wrote for fitskiing.com regarding useful modalities to aid in recovery.

Myofascial Release with Foam Roller: Injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma, and poor posture can cause restriction to fascia. Since fascia is an interconnected web, the restriction or tightness to fascia at a place, with time can spread to other places in the body like a pull in a sweat… Continue

What is a Hostel ?

This is my first blog post and i would enjoy to write a few sentences about hostels. Hostels are a magnificent method to see the world on a budget. From the cheapest to the more grand there is something to accommodate every preference and budget. The important thing about hostels is that tons of university students flock to them as they are cheap and enjoyable so there is all the time lots of student travelers around to party with!

In generally every other… Continue
